Stress-Free Thanksgiving
The biggest feast of the year is just a couple days away! It's a day when many of us gather together with our loved ones for a day filled with food and of course, football. So now that we are just days away from the big feast, and you're like many of us, AKA procrastinators, your to-do list is getting longer by the minute. Don't panic!! We are here to help! Here are some table setting tips, in-store items and a few good recipes to help planning a stress-free Thanksgiving.

SETTING THE TABLE

 

Keep it simple by doing a modern yet chic look, with Fall-inspired floral arrangements as your centerpieces and to add a plain table cloth with guest towels in napkin rings at each place setting. Dust off the chinaware you've been hiding...with chargers, dinner plates, salad/dessert plates and fancy wine glasses, your table will be complete.

BUFFET STYLE

From the turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, dinner rolls, to the green bean casserole, set up all of the amazing food on one table.. do it buffet style! It is much easier for your hungry guests to help themselves for how many second servings they go for. 

 

KIDS TABLE

The holiday tradition for the win for everyone! Let kids be kids, and enjoy their time with their friends at their own special holiday table. Make it entertaining for the little's by covering the table with a fun paper table runner, serve their dinner on disposable plates placed on special placemats.

 

DON'T FORGET THE BAR

 Set up your bar cart with your favorite wine, champagnes or holiday themed cocktails. Got to keep the adults entertained while you're finishing getting dinner ready.

 

 

RECIPES 

                                     APPLE CIDER MULES                                     
                   Ingredients                     
4oz Vodka
Ginger Beer
Sparkling Cider
Sliced Apple, for garnish
Cinnamon Sticks, for garnish 
Directions
Fill two copper mugs with ice.
Pour 2oz vodka into each cup.
Fill 2/3 full with sparkling cider, then top
it with ginger beer.
Garnish with an apple slice & a cinnamon 
stick. Serve.

Kelsey's Homemade Cherry Cobbler

 Ingredients

1 box of yellow cake mix

1 stick of butter

4 to 6 cans of cherry pie filling

13 x 9 inch rectangular pan 

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees

2. Pour the cherry cans into baking pan

3. Pour 1 box of yellow cake mix on top of cherries, spread evenly

4. Melt 1 stick of butter, then cover the yellow cake mix with the melted butter

5. Cover the cobbler with tin foil, place in oven

6. Bake for 30 minutes

7. Let it sit for a few minutes to cool, then serve

Enjoy it hot or cold, either way its amazing!

Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

(14.5-oz.) cans French Style Green Beans, drained

(18-oz.) can Progresso™ Vegetable Classics creamy mushroom soup

(6-oz.) can french fried onions
Directions
Heat oven to 350°F. In 1 1/2-quart casserole or glass baking dish, combine green beans, soup and half of the onions; mix well.
  • Bake at 350°F. for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly, topping with remaining half of onions during last 5 minutes of baking time.
